AUTHORITY · ACCESS · ROOM SCOPE

HMAS Cerberus enquiries need more than a room photograph. Tell us whether the address is a private residence or controlled property, who can authorise the work and how access is arranged. We do not imply a Defence contract or permission to enter; suitability and availability require confirmation.

SURFACES & THEIR SETTING

Identify the property before the appointment

The Royal Australian Navy describes HMAS Cerberus as its training establishment. A location name therefore cannot establish a commercial service’s right to enter a building. Before mould removal is considered, identify the property and the responsible person without sending sensitive access information unnecessarily.

The person approving work

Explain whether an owner, property manager or authorised facilities representative makes decisions. An occupant’s concern is useful, but approval and access still need agreement. We cannot treat a verbal assumption as permission to carry equipment into controlled premises.

The room requiring attention

Describe visible growth on walls, ceilings or hard floors and whether the space is occupied. Do not include restricted documents or identifying security features in photographs.

Discuss assessment within the authorised boundary

A mould inspection enquiry should state which rooms are accessible and who can accompany the visit if required. Moisture checks and visible observations stay within the agreed boundary; they do not provide unrestricted access to adjoining facilities or concealed services.

Surface condition

Tell us about damaged plaster, flaking coatings or damp hard flooring. The material’s condition determines what can be considered.

Operational constraints

Raise approved attendance windows, escort arrangements and power access early. If a building manager controls alarms or other systems, any necessary procedure belongs with that responsible authority.

THE SURFACE REMOVAL PROCESS

An agreed process within the permitted room

01

Check and agree

The technician reviews accessible growth and humidity or moisture measurements. Confirm the room scope with the authorised decision-maker.

02

Set air filtration

Prepare the HEPA air scrubber and the agreed working route. Confirm where equipment may be positioned and how surrounding areas remain separated. Filtration equipment does not create an entitlement to access neighbouring controlled rooms.

03

Choose appropriate treatment

Surface assessment informs suitable HOCl use. Report any earlier cleaning products and fragile materials.

04

Apply the selected method

ULV application may be included where appropriate. Confirm people, pets and authorised building arrangements first. It does not mean sealed wall cavities, upholstery or restricted equipment are covered by the structural-surface service.

05

Remove accessible residues

Physical removal uses professional equipment with H-class filtration as required. Work is limited to agreed visible surfaces. If a lining is unsound, record the limitation and discuss separate work instead of promising cosmetic restoration.

06

Finish and communicate

Final filtration completes the working sequence. Report the treated area, remaining marks and unresolved moisture questions to the agreed contact.

VISIBLE & ACCESSIBLE

Keep the surface request precise

PREPARATION & LIMITS

Realistic duration and appearance

About three hours per room is the service’s average guidance, not an access-window guarantee or hourly charging basis. The authorised contact should discuss room size, contamination and restrictions before coordinating another activity around a presumed completion time.

Cosmetic stains may remain after contamination is treated. Decorating can be separately quoted where appropriate and authorised. Plumbing, roof and structural repairs remain separate; unresolved dampness can lead to recurrence, regardless of which property organisation manages the building.

AFTER THE SURFACE WORK

Assign the moisture follow-up clearly

Identify who receives reports of leaks, condensation or extraction faults. A resident, property manager and facilities team may have different responsibilities. Make that pathway clear so observations from treatment do not become a repair request without an accountable recipient.

Use dated room records where authorised, avoiding unnecessary security details. Mould remediation addresses the assessed contamination, while ongoing moisture management and repair belong in the building’s appropriate maintenance process. Attendance by a private provider must still be permitted.

BEFORE YOU ARRANGE WORK

Questions for your enquiry.

Do you have a Defence contract at HMAS Cerberus?

No such relationship is claimed here. This page is an address-enquiry guide. Any work requires permission, appropriate arrangements and confirmation that the proposed service can attend.

Can an occupant book without facilities approval?

Do not assume so. Explain who owns or manages the building and who authorises work. Relevant approval and access conditions must be resolved before an appointment is agreed.

Should I send the site’s security instructions?

Share only information necessary through the appropriate authorised process. Initial enquiries can describe access constraints without exposing codes, sensitive documents or security features in room photographs.

Will you switch off building alarms?

There is no blanket instruction to do that. Any building-system procedure must be approved and handled with the responsible manager and technician as part of the agreed preparation.

Can treatment include hidden service spaces?

Visible accessible surfaces are the stated scope. Concealed cavities or controlled service areas can require separate investigation, permission and additional work; a room booking does not automatically include them.

Does treatment restore the original paint finish?

Not necessarily. Staining and damaged coatings may remain. Cosmetic decorating and material repairs are separate decisions, requiring the relevant approval and consideration of the moisture source.
